Introduction to Triathlon


FrameWork Cycle & Fitness, 273 Townsend St,  Sydney will host the third annual “Introduction to Triathlon” session presented by Cape Breton Barbarians, Julie Curwin, her husband Chris Milburn, and Vince Nicholson, Monday, June 4 at 5:30PM.


Julie Curwin was a member of the Canadian Long-Distance Triathlon Team for several years, and is a veteran of nearly 200 races, including the Hawaii Ironman World Championships.  She was female Triathlete of the Year in Ontario, and was second at Ironman Korea in 2006.  Chris Milburn has completed over 100 triathlons, and has been competing in running races for more than 25 years. Vince Nicholson has 5 years of triathlon experience, from sprint to Ironman distance.  He is a member of the 2012 national age group sprint triathlon team, for which he will be competing this October in New Zealand.


Julie will talk about pre-race prep and swim.


Vince will talk about T1 and bike


Chris will talk about T2 and run


The session will be approximately 1 hour long and will cover the basics of equipment (bike type and fit, running shoes, wetsuits and goggles, triathlon outfits,) setup at the race, and training plans. There will be lots of opportunity for Q&A.  Anyone with an interest in triathlon is welcome to attend.
